A NBB platoon was commanded by a Navy Lieutenant, who had at his disposal a small head quarters and mess sections, as well as 5 jeeps, 1 radio jeep, 1 truck and two bulldozers. Specific types and quantities of vehicles fluctuate from unit to unit during the war. At Normandy the 6th NBB was listed as having 32 vehicles and 373 men, while the 7th had only 15 vehicles and 541 men.
